Project:
“New Routes For Women Employment in Cyprus”
The
groups that benefit from the project “New Routes For Women Employment
In Cyprus”, are classified in the following categories:
1.
Employed Women (labor threatened)
2. Unemployed Women
3. Young Women
4. Businesswomen
5. Women with special needs/disabled
The
aim of the Project, is the combination of family and professional
life, the decline of the professional segregation based on gender,
the promotion of mechanisms for the integration of the principle
of equality in the professional field and the encouragement
of women employment, the promotion of women in high ranking
positions of the professional hierarchy, the promotion of measures
and good practices of equal opportunities in businesses, the
formation of a framework and of a substantial content for a
social dialogue for the promotion of measures and practices
of promoting equal chances in labor and career, the creation
of the preconditions for the fight against the causes that raise
and reproduce the phenomenon of the segregation of the labor
market, the overthrow of stereotypes, perceptions, positions
and attitudes in labor work, in relation to the equality between
the two gender and the promotion of women employment and self-employment.
In
the first stage (Energy I), the conditions of cooperation of
the project’s associates were permanently shaped, so that the
Developmental Association “New Routes for Women” was legally
sustained.
Furthermore, the design of Energy II & III was finalized
and the actions or the transnational cooperation were set in
a course in order to achieve the transmission of ideas and practices
from other countries of the E.U., but also the possibility of
expansion of the project in a European level the transnational
cooperation was chosen with the best prospect (added value).
During Energy II, estimated to endure twenty four (24) months,
the following actions are envisaged:

a) Study of the Needs of Training and Structures – Services
of convenience of the Woman’s Employment in Cyprus
b) Study of Supply and Demand of Services for the Businesses
in Cyprus, in relation to the Woman Employment and Growth of
Woman Business Activity and Selfemployment.
TRAINING
a) Creation of Educational Packages
b) Training of Women
c) Training of Businessmen
STRUCTURES
– NETWORKS
a) Pilot Operation of the Office of Services for Women
b) Creation of a Network of Advisers for the support of women
c) Structure of Help for Women (keeping of children and aged
people, preparation for the school, cleaning etc)
COMMUNICATION
a) Organization of a National Forum for women employment
b) Enactment of Business Award
c) Web Site

The members of the set up Cooperation are the following

COORDINATION
Concerning Energy III, the basic goals are the following:
Informing various collective and other bodies, businessmen,
employed and unemployed, about the project and its possibilities.
In this way it can be seeked the rise of sensitivity and the
realization of the target groups in relation to the combination
of family and professional life and the woman’s employment,
and their actual participation in the projects’ application
through the pilot implementations.
The diffusion of results from the pilot application of the project,
in a way that its consequences will take a real dimension.
The theme networking of the Developmental Cooperation with other
projects, in a way to accomplish the transaction of good practices
and the diffusion of the results.
